Split is Croatia’s second largest city and the largest one in Dalmatia region. The city is known for its ancient sights, sandy beaches, and rich nightlife. It was founded as a Greek colony in 3rd century BC, and one of its most important and recognizable monuments to this day is the Diocletian’s Palace built for the Roman emperor in AD 305.

Beach Bačvice is Split’s most famous beach and is less than half an hour away from the city center.
It is amazingly connected to the rest of Croatia through highways, the Split Airport located in Kaštela, around 20km outside of Split is the second largest airport in Croatia. The Port of Split is the third busiest port in the Mediterranean and serves 4 million passengers every year. It connects Split to the nearby Dalmatian islands such as Brač, Hvar, Šolta, as well as some more distant ones like Vis, Korčula, Mljet, and Lastovo.
