Susak is a small island on the northern Adriatic coast that got its name from the Greek word Sansegus meaning oregano, that grows in abundance on the island.

Susak is a very peculiar island, due to its distance from the mainland and many cultures that have governed it, the people on Susak have many unique traditions that are a blend of southern and central Europe. The islanders have a custom of calling each other mostly by nicknames and they often give a nickname to people who visit!

Susak offers a very specific cuisine that is a blend of Italian, Croatian, Austrian and Mediterranean cooking. On the island you can try losi, a fried pastry made with lemons!
