Rab is an island in the northern Adriatic, firstly mentioned in a Greek source 360 BC. The city of Rab is the administrative center of the island, whilst the neighboring village of Palit has the biggest population.
The southwestern side of the island is covered in one of the last oak forests in the Mediterranean.
Rab has a long and impressive history, the town walls were built by the Roman emperor Octavian Augustus and is now very rich in historical and cultural heritage and filled with monuments.
Today, it is a very popular tourist destination, especially for families because of its beautiful nature and beaches.
